MELISSA B, MA

Melissa Brandt is committed to expanding access to recovery support and strengthening community partnerships. With more than 20 years of experience in housing, public service, and organizational leadership, Melissa brings both strategic insight and hands-on community engagement to her work.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Administration from Barry University and dual master’s degrees in Leadership and Human Resource Management from Webster University. Her professional background includes roles in contract administration, housing services, and executive support, as well as serving as a Special Projects Coordinator for Brevard County Housing and Human Services. In that role, she contributed to initiatives related to Opioid Abatement Settlement funding, focusing on strategic planning, stakeholder collaboration, and community education.

Melissa’s work in recovery is both professional and deeply personal. In 2020, a loved one entered recovery after a long-term opioid addiction, an experience that strengthened her commitment to advocacy and systems-level change. Today, she works on the front lines of outreach—connecting individuals to resources, reducing barriers such as transportation and housing, and helping build a more responsive recovery support system across Brevard County.

She is an active member of the Brevard Opioid Task Force and participates in cross-sector collaborations, including Together in Partnership. Melissa is passionate about reducing stigma, increasing access to care, and ensuring that recovery is visible, supported, and is not the exception, but the expectation- and where every individual has a clear, supported path forward.
