MELISSA BRANDT, MA

OUTREACH SPECIALIST

Melissa Brandt holds a bachelor’s degree in administration from Barry University, and a dual master’s degree from Webster University in leadership and human resource management. She has over 20 years’ experience as an executive assistant, office manager, contract administrator, and housing counselor. For the past 4 years she was a Special Project Coordinator at Brevard County Housing and Human Services and focused on the Opioid Abatement Settlement Funding. She specifically focused on strategic planning, stakeholder meetings, and marketing and education of the opioid funds for Brevard County. She started her career in Florida with Brevard Public School System where she worked on capital projects in contract administration and as a resource conservation specialist for 12 years. She worked in private business directly for CEOs for many years while attending graduate school. Melissa began her advocacy for substance misuse in 2020 when her loved one entered recovery after a 15- year opioid addiction. She is a member of the Brevard Opioid Task Force and attends Together in Partnership and Way maker meetings in the Brevard Community. Melissa has been a loaned leader to the United Way of Brevard, and volunteers in the community for Aging Matters. Melissa will continue to advocate for additional services which enhance recovery from substance misuse; such as detox, housing, and treatment for pregnant women within Brevard County.
