Matthew M
RECOVERY PEER SPECIALIST
I am a Certified Recovery Peer Specialist with a deep personal commitment to helping individuals find hope, stability, and purpose in their recovery journeys. My passion for this work comes directly from my own lived experience. For many years, I struggled with addiction, which led me into homelessness, incarceration, and a life that felt stuck in a vicious and isolating cycle. I remember feeling completely disconnected, hopeless, and unsure if change was even possible.
My turning point came when I found Narcotics Anonymous. For the first time, I experienced genuine love, compassion, and connection. The spiritual tools I learned there reshaped my life and gave me a new foundation to build on. Today, those same principles guide me as I work to make sure others feel seen, heard, and understood. I believe deeply in creating spaces where people feel included and supported, especially when they’re at their most vulnerable.
Originally from South Florida, I moved to Orlando for family and to continue growing in my recovery. I have spent over six years working in the recovery field, supporting individuals as they navigate the challenges and victories that come with rebuilding their lives. One of my greatest joys is helping people “connect the dots” in their recovery—those moments when everything starts to click and they begin to believe in themselves again. There is truly nothing more meaningful than witnessing someone receive the gift of recovery and step into a future they once thought was out of reach.
