Henry was born in Spanish Harlem, New York.  He came from an abusive family and struggled with substance abuse as a young adult. Upon entering a long-term residential program, he made the choice to enter a 6-month intensive internship. Once he completed the internship and graduated from Daytop Village Inc, he was hired as an entry-level substance abuse counselor. Henry has 32 years of sobriety and has been working with people who suffer from addictions for over 30 years. He was employed in Broward County Florida for 17 years as a Certified Peer Specialist working with clients that have pending criminal charges in the 17^th Circuit Court. As a Certified Recovery Peer Specialist at Recovery Connections, he is currently working with the same population in the 9^th Circuit Court in Orange County, Florida.
